*** COVID-19 FAQs ***

If a player or coach tests positive for COVID-19, will the other teams be informed that a member of a team tested positive?
If someone (coach, player, parent) tests positive for Covid-19, MFLL requires they report it to either their coach, player agent, or email [email protected]  MFLL will notify any teams that would have been exposed, without revealing the name of the person.  Please keep in mind, if you do not report it to us, we cannot protect other players and families.  It is up to our families to be upfront and honest with us.

We were supposed to play with another organization but they have cancelled the season.  Is registration still open?

Yes, new players may still register until May 30th, although the sooner you register the sooner we can get you on a team.

Can we get a refund for the season if we decide not to play due to Covid-19?
Yes.  We are asking families to make their decisions about the season as soon as possible, May 27th is the date we have given so we have final rosters and can start creating a game schedule.  Full refunds less the administrative fee can be requested until June 1st by emailing your full name, your player's full name & your mailing address to [email protected]. Refunds will be sent as a check and mailed Tuesday of each week.  If you decide after June 1st to withdraw from the season, your fees will be credited to your account and can be used for 2021 registration.  Refund checks will not be sent after the June 1st deadline.

Why is there a deadline for refund requests?
The process of re-forming teams after we had already held the draft is long and very manual.  As players are asking for refunds and removed from teams, we are shuffling teams around while still trying to keep skill levels equal for everyone.  It's not ideal, but we do not have time to hold another draft.  Each time we configure a team, and then get more refund requests, we have to start over.  The deadline has been put in place so that we have a final date that we know how many teams we will have and can start working on the game schedule.

How much is the administrative fee and what does it cover?

The administrative fee is $25/player and will be used to offset the expenses we have already incurred which includes insurance, charter fees, uniforms, check processing, etc.

If we choose to play, when are we starting and how many games/week will we have?
We are hoping to start practices June 1st and games June 15th (Tball June 22nd).  Two games per week will be scheduled at each level.  Softball will play through July, Baseball & Tball will play through August.  All games will be done before school resumes in Fall.  Basically it's the same amount of time for games, we just skipped May and are playing in August.

What equipment will MFLL provide, what does my family need to provide?
As in past years, MFLL will provide uniforms, catchers gear, and balls.  Families will need to provide gloves, bats, and batting gloves.  Helmets will be made available to players if a family cannot provide their own.  Any shared equipment must be sanitized by the team after each use.  MFLL will provide equipment sanitizer for team use.

Will MFLL provide hand sanitizer or hand-washing stations?

Yes, we will have hand sanitizer available at both concessions stands.  Hand-washing stations will be located near each portable toilet and at South Concessions.  Parents are encouraged to supply their player with sanitizer and wipes for personal use.

Are players required to wear masks?
At this time we are not requiring players to wear masks.  The decision to wear masks will be up to the family and player.

Can we have a partial refund if we only play part of the season?
No, partial refunds will not be offered if you withdraw after games have started which is our standard policy.

How will you encourage player social distancing?
We are working through a few options like marking the fence-line every 6 ft with a driveway marker or using Hula-hoops.  Only 4 players and 1 coach will be allowed in a dugout at any time.  Other players & coaches are to line up on the outside of the field they are using.

Will the number of spectators per game be limited?
At this time we are asking that the number of fans attending games be limited to 2 adults per player, plus siblings.  We encourage anyone at high risk to stay home.  Spectators are asked to practice social distancing and bring their own seating.  Bleachers may not be open for spectators at times.  Mask use is a personal choice but encouraged.

How do I know if I should stay home?
Any player or family member showing symptoms of illness or that have been in contact with anyone with symptoms, are required to stay home.  We encourage all families to take temperatures before coming to the Complex and follow CDC recommended hygiene practices.

When will we get game schedules?
We will work on game schedules as soon as we know how many players will be opting out of the season and if teams need to be shuffled.  Once we know how many teams we have, we will be able to create schedules.  We are shooting for before or on June 8th.  They will be loaded into your team page on our software so everyone will see them at the same time.

Will teams be able to bring team snacks for after their game?
No, we ask that "community" team snacks not be brought in.  Players should bring their own snacks or purchase items from the concessions stand.

What about the base race?  Will that be allowed?
As long as players are practicing social distancing, there is no reason we can't continue this tradition.
