COVID-19 FAQs

COVID-19 WAIVER - MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE PARTICIPATION IS ALLOWED

When should we notify MFLL of a positive case?
If a member of your household tests positive, whether or not they are a player/coach with MFLL, we ask that you alert us to the positive case. Waukesha County Public Health does reach out, but with the amount of cases they are dealing with there has been a delay of a few days between when you report the positive and they do. The sooner we are aware of the positive case, the sooner we can do our own contact tracing and alert anyone that may be at risk. Again, anyone in your HOUSEHOLD - they don't have to be a player or coach with us.

How do we notify MFLL of a positive case?
Please email me directly with the following information: 1) who tested positive; 2) what day they were tested; 3) what day did symptoms start; 4) when was the last time your family was with your team (game, practice, socially).

If a player or coach tests positive for COVID-19, will the other teams be informed that a member of a team tested positive?
If someone (coach, player, parent) tests positive for Covid-19, MFLL requires they report it to either their coach, player agent, or email [email protected].  MFLL will notify any teams that would have been exposed, without revealing the name of the person.  Please keep in mind, if you do not report it to us, we cannot protect other players and families.  It is up to our families to be upfront and honest with us.

Who will be notified if there is a positive case?
You will be notified directly that you or your family had potential contact with a Covid positive player or coach.  We are respecting the privacy of our families by not publicizing positive cases, but we are not keeping secrets either.  When we gather the information from a family with a positive case, we can trace back to the teams involved and alert them directly.

What equipment will MFLL provide, what does my family need to provide?
As in past years, MFLL will provide uniforms, catchers gear, and balls.  Families will need to provide gloves, bats, and batting gloves.  Helmets will be made available to players if a family cannot provide their own.  Any shared equipment must be sanitized by the team after each use.  MFLL will provide equipment sanitizer for team use.

Will MFLL provide hand sanitizer or hand-washing stations?

Yes, we will have hand sanitizer available at both concessions stands.  Hand-washing stations will be located near each portable toilet and at South Concessions.  Parents are encouraged to supply their player with sanitizer and wipes for personal use.

Are players required to wear masks?
At this time we are not requiring players to wear masks.  The decision to wear masks will be up to the family and player.

Can we have a partial refund if we only play part of the season?
No, partial refunds will not be offered if you withdraw after games have started which is our standard policy.

How will you encourage player social distancing?
Players will use the fence-line with markers every 6 ft to start the season out.  Only 4 players and 1 coach will be allowed in a dugout at any time.  Other players & coaches are to line up on the outside of the field they are using.

Will the number of spectators per game be limited?
At this time we are not limiting the number of fans attending games.  We encourage anyone at high risk to stay home.  Spectators are asked to practice social distancing and bring their own seating.  Bleachers may not be open for spectators at times.  Mask use is not required at The Complex.

How do I know if I should stay home?
Any player or family member showing symptoms of illness or that have been in contact with anyone with symptoms, are required to stay home.  We encourage all families to take temperatures before coming to the Complex and follow CDC recommended hygiene practices.

Will teams be able to bring team snacks for after their game?
Yes, we will allow w "community" team snacks this season as long as they are individually pre-packaged items.  No homemade snacks please.

What about the base race?  Will that be allowed?
As long as players are practicing social distancing, there is no reason we can't continue this tradition.
